Year 1 had so much fun exploring shadows!

We measured our shadows throughout the day!

Mrs Yaffe wanted to be as tall as her shadow! It was really tall in the morning sunshine.

Year 1 predicted that their shadows would be very small when the sun was directly over their head.

At midday, we discovered we were right! How shadows had shrunk!

Year 1 realised that our shadows changed length over the course of a day.

Tall, short and then tall again.

Will our shadows be the same in the summer months?
