On Monday afternoon Year 2 was transformed into Ancient Greece! The Rainbow Theatre Company ran a workshop called ‘A Child in Ancient Greece’ – but it was not only the actor that got into role – we did too!
The first half was historically informative – illustrating life in ancient Athens – we had a lot to add as we have been writing our own fact-sheets this week!
The second half was an opportunity to re-visit and act out three of the most famous Greek myths: Oedipus and the Sphinx; Odysseus and the Cyclops; Theseus and the Minotaur.
Rainbow Theatre provided the Year 2 audience with the sense of excitement that living in 5th Century Athens must have had!
The highlight had to be improvising alongside the experienced actors, learning a Greek dance and of course scraping the eye out of the HUGE Cyclops!!
