Good luck; I can’t wait to read them!
Meercats
In hot places like deserts there’s an animal called meerkats. One meerkat is called Jake. He loved the desert and wanted to know how it was created. so he asked his mother but she said “I have no idea.” So Jake got out of his small home and explored for clues. First he went to a cactus, but sadly he touched it and hurt himself. So next he found an ancient hole to find a clue. “I found a painting!” said a kid who burned the ground. So he ran to home and told his mother.
THE END
I Scorched The Earth
I breathe fire, I breathe smoke.
I’ll turn you into ashes, and that’s no joke.
I’ll burn the water, I’ll burn the land.
I’ll make the earth, look so bland.
I created deserts, I created sand.
I prevent oak, from growing in that land.
I go fast, at the speed of light.
So if I take off, I have to hold tight.
If I’m right, or if I’m wrong,
I’ll still my sandy song.
So if it comes, to breathing fire,
I’ll be the one who comes out higher.
With my fire…
I scorched the earth.
SCORCHED EARTH
The earth is dead,
Nothing can be done,
Pollution destroyed the layer that protects us,
Trees have burned,
Water dried up,
The earth is dead.
People starve,
People dehydrate,
Everyone fights to survive,
The world is a desert,
The cities are ruins,
The earth is dead.
Civilization has been left behind,
People live like animals,
The seas are like lakes,
Plant life is ashes,
People flee underground,
The earth is dead.
The earth is dead,
Nothing can be done,
Pollution destroyed the layer that protects us,
Trees have burned,
Water dried up,
The earth is dead,
The earth is dead.

Once there was a boy called Gord and as soon as the scorched Earth game came out Gord begged his ma and pa for the game for Christmas. For 3week Gord played Scorched Earth until he fell dead on desk. His ma and pa cried for 30 days until they fell dead and that was the end of Scorched earth!
Once upon a time, there was a family with three children two boys and one girl, charlotte, Jorge and Billy. Their dad was a solder and was back from war for two weeks and everyone was greeting him. After the two weeks had come to an end he had to go again. His next task was to destroy anything useful to the enemy. He bombed their base, transportation and burnt their food sources. He successfully did that so he got on the plane to get home but sadly mid flight the Americans bombed the plane down and he died sorrowfully.
Amazing world
In Malaysia the ground is very hot. This is because the sun shines brightly most of the year. Sometimes it doesn’t rain for a long time. Sometime when it is very hot the sunlight reflects from people homes and causes a forest fire. When a forest fire happens, people get very upset because they can’t get their Durian fruit to sell at the market. During the fire, animal homes get destroyed. Some of the animal will die in the fire some will run away to safety. I am telling you how hot Malaysia is. Don’t go to Malaysia.
Great entry Yeehong! But I think I would still like to visit after hearing about your summer holiday!
In 1945 a Russian soldier called Ivan came back from the War. When he got to his small farm, he burst into tears because his old house had been burned down by the German Army and all the land around was scorched black. In front of the shack three bodies of his wife, son and mother were buried – where was his daughter? Two years later when Ivan had fixed up the shack, a girl knocked on the door and he knew at once that it was his daughter Anastasia. The crops grew again and they had a happy life together.
SCORCHED EARTH
The Ancient Greeks thought that the Earth got scorched by the chariot of the sun being flown too close to our planet. The myth that explains that story is called ‘Phaethon and the Chariot of the Sun’. The story explains how the deserts were made. The Greeks had many myths explaining why or how something happened, so did the Egyptians, Romans and the Vikings. The Sahara (the largest hot desert on Earth) is now covering all of Libya and Egypt, is covering most of Niger and Mauritania and is half covering Morocco, Sudan, Chad, Mali, Algeria and Tunisia.
SCORCHED EARTH
Scorched Earth is a military strategy where an army obliterates everything useful to the country that they are fighting such as food water and possibly even the people.
But I am going to talk about slash and burn which is a way of clearing an area of forest to make it easy for cows to feed themselves.
This is bad for our environment because before very long the soil becomes useless and we are left without a forest while the farmers go and find another place to feed their cattle just so people can eat lots of meat.
Caitlin’s facts and fiction:
Myth
Phaethon was the son of the mighty Apollo who drove the sun-chariot. Phaethon asked his father if he could drive the chariot. Apollo reluctantly agreed. It began well, but then Phaethon drove too close to the world and so deserts were created.
Non-fiction
The world deserts are formed by the equatorial wind belts. At the equator, warm air is always rising. This creates wind belts that blow north and south away from the equator. When air descends at the Tropic of Cancer and Capricorn it is too dry for the clouds to form.
Bella, a princess was magical and went to magic school. She told her friends that her mother was Queen of the Sun. Nobody believed her! She strode up angrily to her mother, the Queen. She saw her sun chariot, seized it and took off, the two magic horses flying. She hoped her friends would see her and believe it. She flew too close to the ground and scorched it. Suddenly afraid she reared upwards. The commotion awoke the Lightening Queen who was furious and struck lightening. Bella was killed. Her poor mother wept so hard she turned into a tree.

Aaron
Desert, dry as a bone. The gleaming hot sun shining on the desert sand, lizards crawling along the floor, camels stomping across the yellow sea.
Hot black sand and volcanic rocks, the home of Manrique, Manrique was an artist and loved to carve and paint. He made a beautiful house on Lanzarote out of the volcanic rocks. He’s long gone but people still worship his work.
The children in the aqua parks having such a fun and joyful time.

Wind blows
ice cracks
there is no escape
in the deep freeze
Temperatures drop
cheeks glow
it’s hard to get warm again
in the deep freeze
A mug of cocoa
one winter coat
I pull my gloves on
in the deep freeze
Heart pounds
toes are numb
eyelashes frosted
in the deep freeze
the snow fox howls
the polar bear floats
the birds are silent
in the deep freeze
There is no heating
the fire glows
the hot water is gone
in the deep freeze
Here I am in Antartica
trying to live a normal life
in the deep freeze…
A scorched-earth policy is a military strategy which can be to do with destroying anything that might be very helpful to the enemy.
It is a military strategy where all of the useful things that are used or can be used by the enemy are destroyed, targeted like food resources, transportation, communications, and mechanical resources and even people.
Where they practice can be in there own territory just for practicing or in the enemy’s territory. But it is not the same as wrecking of a enemy’s resources, which is done for protecting there country.
For example, It was used by Joseph in the German Army.
